Grainger Pierce was raised in eastern North Carolina, where he spent much of his free time roaming his grandparents’ farms. He earned his undergraduate degree from Duke University, where he studied art history, classics, and psychology. Following his graduation from law school at Chapel Hill, Grainger moved to Charlotte, where he developed a thriving employment law practice representing employers of all sizes. Prior to joining the firm in 2019, Grainger was a partner at a prominent regional firm.

Grainger works with companies, municipalities, and schools on everything from complex litigation to internal investigations and compliance assessment. He has successfully represented clients in all North Carolina state and federal trial courts, as well as before the North Carolina Supreme Court and Court of Appeals. Additionally, Grainger is a frequent speaker on employment law issues, and he has served as an instructor for the Duke University and University of North Carolina – Charlotte paralegal programs.

Outside the office, you will likely find Grainger on a bicycle somewhere on the backroads or trails of Gaston County, where he lives with his wife and son. Grainger especially enjoys long-distance gravel racing, and has finished the 350-mile Unbound XL, the Dirty Kanza 200, and the Croatan Buck Fifty, among others.
